Welcome to PreteristAdvocate.com, a website devoted to the biblical teaching called Preterism.
Preterism holds that the Bible's end-time prophecies have been largely, if not completely, fulfilled.
It emphasizes past fulfillment.
Preterism stands in stark contrast to all other eschatological perspectives.
It takes the New Testament imminence statements seriously:
It believes Jesus' promises (in Matthew 16:27-28; 24:34; Mark 9:1; Luke 21:31-32; Revelation 22:7, 12, 20).
It notes how New Testament authors all expected Jesus to return in their generation (e.g., Philippians 4:5; Hebrews 10:37; James 5:7-9; 1 Peter 4:5, 7, 17; 1 John 2:18).
Preterism regards Old Testament prophecies as fulfilled in Christ.
Prophecies anticipating Messiah’s kingdom are fulfilled in his present reign from heaven (e.g., Psalms 2, 72, 110;
Isaiah 9:6-7; 11:1-10). In Jesus, David’s throne has been fully restored (Luke 1:32-33; Acts 2:30-36).
All nations are Jesus' reward and inheritance, and ultimately he will win them to himself through the gospel (Psalm 2:8; Romans 4:13; Galatians 3:8, 14; Revelation 15:4).
Preterism has a uniquely optimistic view of the future.
Along with articles on preterism, other theological articles are provided for interest.
Lord willing, additional articles will be added from time to time.
